“I feel bad that it’s made anyone feel horrible about themselves – but that’s not my job. I’m trying to sort my own life out. I can’t add another worry.”

Although Adele admitted the backlash was ‘disappointing,’ she acknowledged that the reaction wasn’t completely shocking.

The mum-of-one remarked: “I’m not shocked or even fazed by it because my body has been objectified my entire career.

“I’m either too big or too small; I’m either hot or I’m not.”

The Grammy winner also spoke out about her weight loss in a recent interview with Vogue magazine.

In the chat, the 33-year-old revealed that she lost so much weight as exercising helped her cope with ‘anxiety’.

“It became my time. I realised that when I was working out, I didn’t have any anxiety,” she explained. “It was never about losing weight.”

She added: “I thought, If I can make my body physically strong, and I can feel that and see that, then maybe one day I can make my emotions and my mind physically strong.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Adele insisted that she’s the ‘same person’ she’s always been.

She said: “I understand why some women especially were hurt. Visually I represented a lot of women. But I’m still the same person.”
