Amber Heard’s ex-personal assistant has reportedly testified that the star would verbally abuse her on numerous occasions.
A pre-recorded video deposition to jurors from Kate James, who worked as the actress’ PA for three years (between 2012 and 2015), was presented by Johnny Depp’s lawyers on April 14.
When testifying, Heard’s former employee reportedly said that she took the position for $25 per hour as it allowed her a flexible enough schedule to pick up her son from school.

However, six months into the job, James claimed that it ended up becoming a full-time position which meant she wanted her salary to become $50,000.
When the former PA allegedly asked for this amount, she claimed that the Aquaman star ‘leapt out of her chair and put her face approximately four inches from my face, spitting in my face’.
She alleged that this incident was witnessed by a handyman who supposedly appeared ‘mortified and so embarassed’.
James also claimed that Heard would send her ‘a barrage of abusive text messages,’ which could be sent early in the morning.
She alleged: “Between 2 and 4am, the barrage would start, all incoherent, not really making sense.”

Her employment with Heard happened to overlap the time in which the actress has alleged she was abused by Depp on numerous occasions.
Although the star has claimed that her former husband would have episodes of violence, James has reportedly said that this didn’t appear to be the case from what she had witnessed.
The ex-PA claimed that Heard would belittle her former husband for his age and physical shape, alleging that she would often slap or punch him too.
Yet James appeared to think positively of the actor, describing him as ‘a total Southern gentleman’.
On first impressions of the Hollywood star, she said he appeared to be ‘peaceful, calm, and very quiet,’ adding: “He was always completely passive.”
