Do you remember the Sour Cream & Chives flavoured Pringles? Well, you won’t be the only one, as many people are taking to social media and questioning whether it ever even existed.
For a while, foodies have been engaged in an online debate on whether the iconic brand’s green packaging has been changed from Sour Cream & Chives-flavoured Pringles to Sour Cream & Onion.
It all started when a Reddit user started a thread asking: “Does anyone have any evidence of Sour Cream & Chive Pringles?”

The Reddit user went on to say: “There’s a big fight going on in my house at the moment.
“Several of us are sure that the green Pringles used to be Sour Cream & Chive but we can’t find any proof. They seem to have been scrubbed from the internet.
“Does anyone have proof either way if it was chives in the past?”
Taking to the comments, one baffled user wrote: “Anyone remember the Pringles flavour being Sour Cream & Chives instead of Sour Cream & Onion???”
Another added: “I thought I could easily disprove it by doing a Google image search but nothing… now it’s 3am and I look like a confused fool.”
A third person commented: “Definitely used to be Sour Cream & Chive, I think they discontinued and Sour Cream & Onion was born.”
While somebody else wrote: “I have no proof but know for certain that Sour Cream & Chives were my favourite Pringles flavour.”

On the official Pringles website, it clearly shows that on the green tube, it reads: “Pringles Sour Cream & Onion.”
While the description for the item says: “Pringles Sour Cream & Onion crisps are the perfect combination of green onion taste and savoury sour cream flavours certain to satisfy even the most intense of cravings.
“These delectable crisps are perfect for any party or get-together. No matter when or where you enjoy Pringles Sour Cream & Onion crisps they will always stay fresh with our iconic resealable container.”

Determined to get an answer, one Pringles fan claimed they contacted the company a while back to get some answers.
Pringles reportedly responded: “Pringles used to market a flavour variety in the UK called Sour Cream & Chive and sometimes our consumers use the name of this flavour variety when making inquiries or referring to our currently available Pringles Sour Cream & Onion flavour.
“We hope this has helped clarify and appreciate your interest in the Pringles brand.”
