Mark Ruffalo has warned Elon Musk to get off Twitter following his takeover of the social media giant.
The Tesla CEO purchased the company for roughly $44 billion (£38 million) after months of speculation and negotiations.
Musk’s takeover has already caused a bit of controversy, as he immediately fired some of the top executives at the company.
Meanwhile, a number of high-profile celebrities, such as Gigi Hadid, Jameela Jamil, and Josh Gad, have vowed to remove their accounts from Twitter, reports CBS.

Now The Incredible Hulk himself has called out Musk over his much-discussed takeover.
Ruffalo engaged with the SpaceX founder in a series of tweets as he agreed with US representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) after she had her account blocked.
Musk did this after she criticised him for charging users $8 to be verified on Twitter.
Cortez initially posted: “Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that ‘free speech’ is actually an $8/mo subscription plan.”

Musk’s Twitter Blue verification plan would mean that users would have to pay $8 (£7) a month to purchase a verification badge without the need to verify that their identity matches the one that their account states.
After engaging in a back and forth with Musk, AOC tweeted a screenshot of her Twitter page along with: “Yo Elon Musk while I have your attention, why should people pay $8 just for their app to get bricked when they say something you don’t like?
“This is what my app has looked like ever since my tweet upset you yesterday. What’s good? Doesn’t seem very free speechy to me.”
Ruffalo got involved from here and directly called out Musk by adding: “Elon. Please – for the love of decency – get off Twitter, hand the keys over to someone who does this as an actual job, and get on with running Tesla and SpaceX.
“You are destroying your credibility. It’s just not a good look.”
Musk responded: “Hot take: not everything AOC says is 100 per cent accurate.”
The Now You See Me star answered back to the Tesla CEO: “Maybe so. That’s why having robust filters for dis/misinformation and credible verified users has been a popular feature for people and advertisers alike.
“We need those safeguards to make sure it’s accurate information, or the app loses credibility, as do you. And people leave.”

Discussions about free speech have been circulating ever since Musk took over Twitter, in particular how hate speech and misinformation will be monitored, since he fired members of the human rights, accessibility, AI ethics, communications, and curation teams.
However, Musk has stated that his mission is to make the social media company the ‘most accurate source of information’ in the world.
Twitter needs to become by far the most accurate source of information about the world. That’s our mission.

Recently, The Gray Man actor Rob Kazinsky raised concerns about the verification process as people could impersonate him.
In a Twitter thread, he shared first-hand experiences of someone pretending to be him and interacting with minors.
While not directly responding to Kazinsky, Musk issued a tweet stating anyone who impersonates someone will be immediately suspended.
He wrote: “Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended.
“Previously, we issued a warning before suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning. This will be clearly identified as a condition for signing up to Twitter Blue.
“Any name change at all will cause temporary loss of verified checkmark.”
