Meghan Markle Sent Handwritten Note And Flowers To Be Laid At Prince Philip’s Funeral

Meghan Markle sent a handwritten note and flowers to be laid at Prince Philip’s funeral.

The Duchess of Sussex, who was advised not to fly to the UK due to the fact she is heavily pregnant with her second child, wanted to let the Royal Family know she was thinking of them.

According to reports, the wreath was designed by Willow Crossley, who also arranged the flowers for the nighttime reception at her 2018 wedding and at Archie’s christening.

She chose Eryngium, to represent the Royal Marines, and Acanthus mollis, which is the national flower of Greece, where the Duke of Edinburgh was born. Rosemary was also added to signify remember along with lavender to represent devotion.

Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry, attended the service alongside his brother, Prince William, and his wife Kate Middleton.

Other members of the Royal Family who were present were, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Prince Andrew.

Only 30 people were allowed within the chapel at Windsor Castle due to covid restrictions.

The Queen sat alone through the 50-minute service which was put together by Prince Philip before he died.

He requested there was no eulogy, no sermon, and no family readings.

He did, however, allow for some ‘personal elements of his life’ to be included and ensured the service reflected his close military ties.

The Prince died ‘peacefully’ surrounded by his family on Friday, April 9.

The Royal Family released a statement at the time confirming the news to the world.

It read: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.

“Further announcements will be made in due course.

“The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”
