Nicole Kidman has issued a response after she was ‘cyberbullied’ by comedian Amy Schumer during the coverage of the US Open.
The Eyes Wide Shut actress, 56, was spotted at the women’s finals of the tennis tournament between Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka.
During the match, Kidman could be seen looking engaged event with the sporting event – either being concentrated and fixated on the match or cheering on both women.
Yet, Schumer, 42, took to social media to mock Kidman’s looks and expressions.

In a now-deleted Instagram post of Kidman at the US Open, Schumer wrote in the caption: “This how human[s] sit.”
This led to many people criticising the Trainwreck actress over her comments, with one writing: “Are you cyberbullying Oscar and Emmy winner Nicole Kidman right now.”
Another person says: “This post seems beneath you. What point are you trying to make here?”
A third adds: “Bringing others down is always a sign of our own internal insecurities anyway, so the critics here should hold a mirror.”
“Wow so mean! I expected one of my favourite comedians to have more respect for other people’s feelings than this,” states a fourth.
A fifth user pens: “Have always thought you were funny, seen all your specials, movies, read your book. But this selective mean girl public trolling stuff? No thanks,”
While many of her fans defended Kidman, sources close to the Bombshell actress have told the Daily Mail that she was ‘not fazed’ by Schumer’s remarks.
“It’s kind of silly and she’s not fazed,” they add.
The backlash was enough to make Schumer delete her post and issue an apology – which she also deleted – where she sarcastically penned: “I want to apologise to all the people I hurt posting a photo of Nicole Kidman and alluding to her being an alien.”
Her apology then proceeded to take shots at Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.
The couple are both under huge scrutiny after it was revealed that they were among 50 people who wrote letters in support of their That ’70s Show co-star Danny Masterson – who has recently been convicted to 30 years in jail after being found guilty of the r*** of two women.

The couple did release a video on Instagram where they apologised for their actions – adding that those letters never ‘intended to undermine’ the victims and those affected.
Schumer continued her apology to Kidman by adding: “I will be asking the cast of That ’70s Show to write letters advocating for my forgiveness #takingtimetoheal.”
While Kidman has yet to address Schumer’s remarks herself, she did upload an Instagram story to congratulate Gauff on winning the Women’s US Open.
She was also in attendance with her husband Keith Urban for the Men’s final between Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev.
