Snoop Dogg says there is only one singer who has ever ‘out-gangstered’ him.

The ‘Doggystyle’ artist, 51, shot to fame in the early-90s and quickly became one of the biggest names in gangsta rap.

He’s sold more than 35 million records worldwide – including seven platinum albums.

However, he’s admitted that only one artist has trumped him when it comes to being truly ‘gangster’ – and it’s not who you might expect.

Snoop says he was left genuinely ‘scared and shook up’ after she taught him a very valuable lesson.

The singer in question was Grammy-winning soul singer Dionne Warwick, 82.

The outspoken ‘Queen of Twitter’ – a title she got by roasting other celebrities – once took Snoop to task over his ‘misogynistic’ lyrics at the beginning of his career.

Warwick invited him, Suge Knight and a number of other rappers, to her home so that she could confront them in person.

Speaking about the invitation, Snoop recalled: “We were kind of scared and shook up.

“We’re powerful right now. But she’s been powerful forever. Thirty-some years in the game, in the big home with a lot of money and success.”

The singer told the group to arrive at her home no later than 7 am on the dot – not a minute before, not a minute after.

Snoop said they were all on her driveway at 6:52 am.

Warwick greeted them and immediately told them to call her a ‘b****’ – a word they regularly used in their songs.

She told them: “You guys are all going to grow up. You’re going to have families. You’re going to have children.

“You’re going to have little girls and one day that little girl is going to look at you and say, ‘Daddy, did you really say that? Is that really you?’

“What are you going to say?”

In a CNN film about her life, she said of Snoop’s group and their songs: “These kids are expressing themselves, which they’re entitled to do.

“However, there’s a way to do it.”

Snoop – who employs a full-time blunt roller – said he was taken aback after hearing his own lyrics being used against him by one of the biggest female artists of all time.

“She was checking me at a time when I thought we couldn’t be checked,” he explained.

“We were as gangsta as you could be, but that day at Dionne Warwick’s house, I believe we got out-gangstered that day.”

Snoop admitted that the meeting prompted him to tone down the lyrics on his 1996 album ‘Tha Doggfather’.

“I made a point of making records of joy – me uplifting everybody and nobody dying and everybody living,” he said.

Snoop is now a husband and a father to three boys and, just like Warwick predicted, a daughter.

Sending her a message for the CNN film, Snoop said: “Dionne, I hope I became the jewel that you saw when I was the little, dirty rock that was in your house.

“I hope I’m making you proud.”
